چکیده

Helichrysum stoechas (L.) Moench cell suspensions were analyzed by LC-ESI-QTOF, which highlighted the predominance of 3,5-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid (3,5-diCQA). Elicitation H. cells with methyl jasmonate (200 mM) led to a massive rise in 3,5-diCQA, up 5-fold-increase compared control, reaching concentration 10.2 mg. g-1dry weight after 14 days culture. Previous data showed that diCQA isomers are potent allelopathic compounds, thus methanolic extracts control and MeJa-elicited tested for their phytotoxicity. With this mind, activity on seed germination seedling growth model plant Lepidium sativum tested. Phytotoxicity both occurred dose-dependent manner, greater elicited extract. Indeed, range from 0.31 0.83 mL-1, latter significantly higher inhibition rate L. seedlings root growth, when The presented may contribute explore new strategies towards conception bioherbicides origin. To our knowledge, study is first report use grown vitro as raw material production metabolites.

Methyl jasmonate stimulates the de novo biosynthesis of vitamin C in plant cell suspensions.

Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is an important primary metabolite of plants that functions as an antioxidant, an enzyme cofactor, and a cell-signalling modulator in a wide array of crucial physiological processes, including biosynthesis of the cell wall, secondary metabolites and phytohormones, stress resistance, photoprotection, cell division, and growth. Plants synthesize ascorbic acid via de no...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Phytochemical Analysis, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Helichrysum arenarium (L.) Moench. and Antennaria dioica (L.) Gaertn. Flowers.

Antennaria dioica (L.) Gaertn. and Helichrysum arenarium (L.) Moench. are two species of the Asteraceae family, known in Romanian traditional medicine for their diuretic, choleretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the phenolic and sterolic composition of flowers from the two species and to assess their antioxidant, antibacterial and antifungal pro...

Effect of UV Light on Secondary Metabolite Biosynthesis in Plant Cell Cultures Elicited with Cyclodextrins and Methyl Jasmonate

All the chemical reactions that occur in the cells of a living organism are called metabolism. By these reactions, a large number of organic compounds, including sugars, amino acids, fatty acids, nucleotides and their polymers derived, that is, polysaccharides, proteins, lipids, RNA, DNA, etc ... are produced. These processes are essential and common to all organisms and are known as primary me...

Response of peppermint to methyl jasmonate application .

Jasmonate compounds are known as new plant hormones that play important roles in the regulation of plant growth and development. Mints have been used and valued as aromatic herbs for thousands of years. Peppermint (Mentha piperita L.) is used for medicinal and food purposes and its essential oil is considered industrially important. Peppermint plants were grown in a greenhouse in pots. At flowe...
